Whitney Houston's Family: "We Are Devastated"

Speaking out for the first time since the tragic passing of their loved one, the family of Whitney Houston has just released an official statement to the press.

In their certainly strenuous words offered up on Sunday (February 12), Whitney's kin told, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney."

The press release continued, "This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends. — The Houston Family.”

Meanwhile, Miss Houston's former husband, Bobby Brown, also offered up an emotional statement the previous evening, as the singer said, "I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”

With an autopsy already underway, early speculation points towards an accidental drowning after the Whitney is thought to have fallen asleep in the bathtub after taking prescription Xanax pills.
