Madonna Takes “W.E.” to Venice

Stepping out for a promotional appearance, Madonna was spotted at a photo call for her new flick “W.E.” at the Venice Film Festival today (September 1).

The “Material Girl” songstress, who co-wrote and directed the film, was joined by Abbie Cornish at the Palazzo Del Cinema as she posed for the paparazzi.

“W.E.” is a two-tiered romantic drama focusing on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard.

Also starring James D’Arcy and Natalie Dormer, “W.E.” is scheduled to hit theaters in the States on December 9th.
