It was an extra special Sunday evening in Hollywood, as the Trevor Project hosted a celebrity-laden 2012 Trevor Live soiree.
And everyone from Amy Poehler to Brittany Snow, Ashley Madekwe, Aubrey Plaza, Kristin Chenoweth, Rashida Jones, Sarah Hyland, Zoe Saldana, and Sarah Hyland all showed up at the Hollywood Palladium to show their support for the GLBT community.
As for the fellas, handsome hunks like Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and James Van Der Beek provided plenty of eye candy.
The Trevor Live 2012 guest of honor was Katy Perry, who was given the Trevor Hero Award for all of her hard work in promoting the gay rights agenda.
Of their decision to highlight Ms. Perry, Trevor Project executive director/CEO explained, “We're honoring her because, really, she has done so much to empower youth.”
“A couple years ago when, unfortunately, a lot of young suicides made the news … and there was a very visible presence of suicide, Katy stepped up and was out there in the community, speaking against it.
“Her support of marriage equality -- and equality for everyone, really -- is one of the many reasons we're supporting her as our hero this year. Her song Firework is all about empowering youth to just be who they are, and that's what we try to do is make sure that when a young person reaches out to us. We are there to say, ‘The way you are is perfect. Just be the way you are.’”
