It’s been a year since he was nearly killed in a car crash involving a Walmart truck and his limousine bus, and finally Tracy Morgan is back out on the road.
On Sunday (July 12) the “30 Rock” funnyman drove his Lamborghini sports car around New York City and FOX 5 anchorman Steve Lacy snapped a photo for his Twitter page. Lacy wrote, “How great is this?! Spotted Tracy Morgan driving a Lamborghini this weekend in #NYC. #myfoxny.”
It’s been a tough year for Tracy Morgan, as he suffered near-life-threatening injuries in a car crash last June. And on Thursday (July 2) the “30 Rock” star looked to be on an upswing as he celebrated his daughter Maven’s second birthday.
Morgan took his fiancée Megan Wollover and their little girl to Orlando, Florida where they spent the day at Walt Disney World riding rides and having a marvelous time together.
Following up his “Today” show interview on Monday morning (June 1), Tracy Morgan sat down with Matt Lauer for an extended chat that aired last night.
Joined by his fiancée Megan Wollover, the “Saturday Night Live” alum explained, "I have my good days and my bad days. Sometimes I don't feel well, sometimes emotionally I don't feel well and I'm not ready for crowds of people because I'm really focused on my memory coming back to me, my walking getting better. My balance is still off so I have to really focus on those things before I'm out here."
It’s been a long and grueling year of recovery for Tracy Morgan and on Monday (June 1) he dropped by the “Today” show for his first interview since the tragic crash that killed his friend James McNair last June.
While chatting with Matt Lauer, the “30 Rock” actor shared, “The case is settled but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac. Bones heal but the loss of my friend will never heal.”
Last June he was left severely injured after a Walmart tractor trailer slammed into his chauffeured car, killing his friend James McNair, and now Tracy Morgan has reached a settlement with the discount retailer.
On Wednesday (May 27), the “30 Rock” actor told press he was “grateful the case was resolved amicably. Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families.”
What started out titled “Nailed,” has now become the much-anticipated political romantic comedy “Accidental Love,” and Millennium Entertainment has just released a preview trailer. The forthcoming project stars Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, James Marsden, Tracy Jordan and Josh Brolin and was originally directed by David O Russell, though he wasn’t the one to complete the movie.
Per the synopsis, “A socially awkward small-town receptionist has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman, eliciting wild sexual urges. The uninsured Joyce goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured. She meets an immoral congressman who takes advantage of her sex drive and capitalizes on her crusade as Joyce heads into her own career in politics.”
Ever since his Mercedes limo was rear-ended by a semi back in June, Tracy Morgan has been fighting to get his life back to normal.
However, the 45-year-old “30 Rock” star may never be able to perform again, based on his debilitating brain injury that has forced him to undergo intense speech, vocational, physical and cognitive therapy on a daily basis.
