The 84-foot-tall Norway spruce was made eco-friendly this year. Covered with five miles of wire, the Rockefeller Christmas tree is lit with 30,000 LED lights.

Tony Bennett is one of the most recognizable voices in American popular music history. He has always been a gentleman, always well spoken and proper. So it’s no wonder that he lit up the night at Fox’s American Idol set last night with positive input and that trademark smile of his.

Bennett was gracious to all the Idol contestants. He came off a kinder and gentler coach than any other we’ve seen thus far. Bennett spoke of beautiful Jordin Sparks voice, that she is “very much in tune, which is rare these days.” On Sanjaya, Bennett commented, “He comes up with something every week. He’s very interesting. He’s got a sense of humor."

Speculation as to whether Michael Jackson would be making an appearance on hit tv show 'American Idol' seems to have been put to rest.

The rumors started a few weeks ago, after Robin Leach reported in his Luxe Life blog that the entertainer was meeting with American Idol mastermind Simon Fuller in Las Vegas to discuss his comeback strategy.

Jackson denied these claims, stating there is "absolutely no truth to the rumor" he would be appearing on the Fox talent competition.

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are finally breaking down the walls that have been an attempt to hide their relationship. In what comes as the most open comment by Mayer to date, he stated, "She's a lovely woman, and I'm glad to be with her," to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. But Mayer still played his games, by proclaiming the relationship in Japanese.

According to E! insiders, later that night, around 9:15 p.m. PST, Mayer was the third celeb to hit Sony's Grammy after-party at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

E! reported, "He and a posse of a dozen men made a beeline for one of the four private outdoor cabanas. Mayer immediately sat down, started texting on his cell phone and made a brief phone call."
