He was mysteriously absent from his show “The Colbert Report” last week, and Stephen Colbert explained everything during last night’s episode.

The 47-year-old comedian noted that his 91-year-old mother’s health was in question, prompting him to drop everything to be at her side

He’s always up to something, and earlier today (June 30) Stephen Colbert met with the Federal Election Commission for a very special request.

Joined by his attorney Trevor Potter, the “Colbert Report” host asked permission to set up a political action committee (PAC) called the Colbert Super PAC, and it got approved.

Keeping a promise he made with host Jimmy Fallon earlier in the week, Stephen Colbert performed Rebecca Black's "Friday" on "Late Night" on Friday (April 1).

Colbert's long-awaited performance of the ubiquitous anthem came after he pledged $26,000 to DonorsChoose.org on Jimmy's behalf.

They’re both major celebrities so it’s no wonder that GQ magazine named Drake and James Franco as two of their 2010 Men of the Year.

Both Franco and Drake got their own covers for the December 2010 issue, and in his interview, James shared a story of taking a class with Michael Warner, a founder of queer theory.

As we look forward to the multitude of possibilities in 2009, it's important to keep in mind that the future, while exciting, is difficult to predict. We can approach our goals with a carefully plotted precision, but even in the most calculated circumstances, sometimes things go horribly wrong. Take late night talk shows for example. The hosts do their best to keep the shows funny while maintaining the standards and practices enacted by the FCC, but that doesn’t mean they always maintain control. Sometimes the proverbial “crap” simply hits the fan.

In the spirit of hitting the fan in 2009, I’ve compiled an ultimate list of talk show interviews that go from completely innocent to sexually charged in the blink of an eye. Whether the transitions are the result of a single dirty comment, a series of inappropriate gestures, or a full-on strip show, nobody could have planned these interviews in advance. So put on your headphones, tilt your screen away from the boss' office, and enjoy the most sexually charged interviews (that are still SFW) in late night television history.

10. Jane Fonda

The Show: The Colbert Report

The Year: 2007

It takes a special kind of guest to catch Stephen Colbert off-guard. (Bear with me on calling Colbert a late night talk show host.) His sharp wit keeps him three or four steps ahead of typical guests, whether they're actors, writers, scientists or politicians. In this particular interview, however, actress Jane Fonda proves that even Colbert has his breaking point.

Stepping out for some last minute shopping before the holiday, Miley Cyrus was spotted out with her underwear model beau Justin Gaston in New York City on Wednesday evening (November 26).

Accompanied by her mother Tish and little sister Noah, the "Hannah Montana" starlet and her "Nashville Star" stud stopped by Serendipity 3 as Miley gets ready to perform at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tomorrow morning.

The Lincoln Center in New York City was definitely the place to be last night. Glamour’s Women of the Year 2007 was in the house, and some big names showed up for the festivities.

Abigail Breslin was named the first ever Girl of the Year. She’s been a huge hit ever since “Little Miss Sunshine” made its way into theaters. And with the success of “No Reservations,” Breslin is on her way to a serious career in film.

It was a good night for men. Spike TV honored the entertainment world with their first annual “Guys Choice” awards, and Tracy Morgan was there to host the night. While the show doesn’t air until June 13th, the winners were announced Saturday night (June 9) to the delight of men everywhere.

Adam Sandler was recognized as the ultimate “Guy Guy,” while his favorite band of all time, STYX performed “Renegade.” The “Best Guy Movie of All Time” went to Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau for “Swingers.”

It's a cold, boring Sunday here in Chicago. I really love this time of the year, but why can't it be above 40 degrees? When the weather turns bad, I become a hermit. You'll most likely find me at home, wearing flannel pajamas and either sitting in front of my computer or curled up on the sofa with a fuzzy blanket. Okay, so I admit it. I'm not the buzzing socialite that you think I am. I'm more of a geeky gossip girl than a party girl. That's okay, right? You'll still love me. I hope.

What will I be watching tonight on the "tube?" The VH1 Big In '06 Awards' is on my list. Of course, knowing the outcome already could make this less exciting, so we'll just tive you a teaser here and if you're one of those that just has to know you can click through the link below to see the complete list of winners and more.

Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Kiefer Sutherland were among the 'big' winners at the show...
