French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier transformed Hermès’ Parisian catwalk into an epic southwestern desert. Amidst the deep orange sunset, sand covered catwalk, and sporadically strewn cacti emerged a collection filled with sultry sophistication. The collection complimented its backdrop as it was filled with rustic Tex-Mex ranchero themed pieces with an urban flare.
The models decorated the catwalk like bold, beautiful banditas wearing fringed suede ponchos and leather jackets. They also wore printed silk ponchos, and sexy shirt dresses of all lengths. The three piece suits made with dark denim, suede, and snakeskin gave these “urban cowgirls” attitude. Short shorts, vests, and blazers were everywhere.
