Sara Gilbert Confirms Lesbian Love Life Speculation

She’s always kept her private life quiet, but Sara Gilbert publicly came out of the closet during a press conference on Wednesday (July 28).

The former “Roseanne” actress attended the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles, California and finally touched on the topic of being gay, a subject she’s always kept quiet about.

When Gilbert was asked if she was comfortable being "out" on her upcoming talk show, “The Talk,” she responded, "This is a whole new world for me. I'm not an expert on this, or I don't analyze these things. I'm just sort of living my life."

She added: "I don't think [being out] will be a problem...I don't ever really think of things as being out or in...I just think I am who I am, and when topics come up that are appropriate, I'll talk about them and share when it seems right."

Gilbert and TV producer, Allison Adler, have been a couple since 2002 and have son Levi, 5, and daughter Sawyer, who turns 3 next month. (Adler gave birth to Levi, while Gilbert gave birth to Sawyer.)
