He just wanted a little relaxing Labor Day weekend activity, but Russell Crowe ended up having to shout out for help on a kayaking trip in New York on Saturday (September 1).
According to a report put out by Reuters, the "Les Misérables" actor "flagged down a Coast Guard patrol" after having to beach his and his friend's kayaks at Huntington Bay.
They ran into difficulty after the evening sky darkened and conditions worsened in the water.
After the incident, the 48-year-old "Gladiators" star took to his Twitter page to thank the patrol guards for their help, writing, "thanks to Seth and the boys from the U.S. Coast Guard for guiding the way."
Though the Academy award-winning actor needed a little assistance, he insisted they were not lost, tweeting, "not lost, we knew where exactly where we were, paddling around from csh [Cold Spring Harbor] into wind, we ran out of day. Grand adventure eh @chris_feather ?"
