Piers Morgan on CNN Job: "Biggest Thing I've Ever Done"
Landing what he considers to be a dream job, Piers Morgan said taking over for Larry King on CNN is the "biggest thing I've ever done".
Visiting with Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning (September 9), the "America's Got Talent" star spoke about meeting King for the first time, saying, "It was an amazing moment for me. Larry is one of my all time heroes...to be able to interview everyone that matters in the world, it's an incredible thrill to the interviewer."
During the interview, Seacrest later told Morgan, "[Larry King] said to me, 'you know what? I really like him. He's a kind guy, he's going to do a great job, we had a great conversation about life.' "
To this Morgan replied, "I think he liked the line I came out with, they asked me, 'what's it like to replace Larry King?' and I said, I can only equate it to the guy who must have been told once, you're following Frank Sinatra at the Sounds in Vegas."
As for his plans for the CNN show, Piers said, "What we do know, is we want to make it unpredictable, a lot of it will be pre-taped...I like having 2 hours with somebody and really getting into them. I like live, I like both. I want to mix it up. I want to make it exciting and slightly dangerous."
