There’s nothing quite like a pop star rivalry and Miley Cyrus was the topic of conversation during Nicki Minaj's interview with the New York Times.
Referring to the tense moment they shared at the MTV Video Music Awards back in August, the “Super Bass” rapper stated, “I saw [Cyrus] just looking at me, with her face screwed up, and I thought, What the!”
After snagging the Best Hip Hop Video for “Anaconda,” the “Super Bass” rapper referred to Miss Cyrus (who was last night’s host) as a “this b*tch who had a lot to say about me the other day in the press” for her comments in the New York Times.
It’s been a crazy week for Twitter feuds and at the center of it all, Nicki Minaj has received more than her fair share of nuttiness.
First, the “Super Bass” babe lamented her two nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in a series of posts that seemed to possibly be dissing Taylor Swift. However, after Taylor responded she thought better of her remarks and wrote, “I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ.” Minaj replied, “That means so much Taylor, thank you. @taylorswift13.”
They’ve been besties for years, so when Ed Sheeran saw Taylor Swift getting slammed by Nicki Minaj on Twitter, he knew he needed to step in.
Earlier this week, the “Pink Friday” rapper complained that she didn’t get more nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and went so far as to imply that if she’d been skinny and preppy like Taylor (who received 9 nods), things would be different.
MTV announced their nominees for the 2015 Video Music Awards on Tuesday (July 21) and it’s pretty safe to say that Nicki Minaj was displeased with her two nods.
Given that Taylor Swift received 9 nominations (7 of which for her video for “Bad Blood”), the “Pink Friday” rapper went on a Twitter tirade claiming that her own videos weren’t considered because of who she is.
