The crowds outside the Ed Sullivan Theater yesterday got quite a treat when “Garden State” actress Natalie Portman arrived for her appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman”.
With her new movie “The Other Boleyn Girl” coming out tomorrow, Portman has been on a rapidly-paced promotional schedule as of late.
Natalie charmed the throngs of spectators with her usual cute disposition, signing autographs and posing for pictures in a black wool coat and some strappy shoes.
Of playing Anne Boleyn in the new flick, Portman commented on the unfortunate nature of what seemed to be a predetermined, self-fulfilling prophecy.
“Yeah, she's born into this world where it's been sort of prescribed for her to be like a power-monger. They label the kids at the beginning. Anne's the clever, tricky one, and Mary's the sweet, good one, and they sort of fulfill their labels.”
