Demi Lovato Sparkles at the 2011 MTV VMAs

She's hot on the comeback trail, and earlier tonight (August 28) Demi Lovato took to the black carpet at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Skyscraper” singer was clad in a sparkly silver dress as she mingled with gal pal Selena Gomez at the Nokia Theatre LA Live venue ahead of the night’s fabulous festivities.

Of the event, Miss Lovato recently chatted with MTV about her excitement over watching Britney Spears receive her special tribute during Sunday night's (August 28) VMA ceremony.

"Who isn't a Britney Spears fan?" Demi asked, adding, "My favorite Britney Spears song is 'I Wanna Go,' 'cause it's the latest song that she has and I love it."

Also noting why she feels Miss Spears is deserving of the honor, the 19-year-old told, "'Cause she's the ultimate pop star; nobody can touch her. She's been around for such a long time now and she's the epitome of pop. So when I think of pop music, I think of her."
