Box Office: "Think Like a Man" Topples "The Hunger Games"
While it was widely predicted that we'd see the first new box office #1 following a month of total domination by "The Hunger Games", it comes as a bit of a surprise to see "Think Like a Man" become the film that did just that.
The Steve Harvey book-based comedy starring Meagan Good and Gabrielle Union shot to the top spot with $12.2 million in opening day earnings and another $13.2 million on Saturday which puts its estimated debut weekend take at a solid $33.3 million.
Settling for the runner-up position is fellow theatrical newcomer "The Lucky One", as the Zac Efron/ Taylor Schilling helmed drama is positioned closely behind with $9.1 million in Friday earnings and $8.5 million more on Saturday with a weekend project set at $22.8 million
Rounding out the top five at the box office in estimated totals are the Jennifer Lawrence starring blockbuster "The Hunger Games" ($14.5 million), followed by "Chimpanzee" ($10.2 million) and "The Three Stooges" ($9.2 million).
