Setting the record straight, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino took to his website on Wednesday (March 21) to clear up the recent rumors surrounding his rehabilitation.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Sitch's rep put out a statement on Tuesday saying the reality star has "spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule."
Today, the toned and always tan 29 year-old took to his website, giving further details to his fans, as he wrote, "I want to set the record straight. I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion. I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."
Adding to the rumors, sources tell TMZ that the guido is currently at Cirque Lodge in Utah for his addictions, and Sorrentino's father, 'The Confrontation,' says this isn't the first time his son has received treatment.
In an interview with MetaCafe, Frank Sorrentino says the reality star first entered rehab at age 27, explaining, "When Mikey was in rehab we found the facility for him in Florida and we brought him down here and did a 7 day dry out period then he went to another facility for 30 days.”
Even though MTV just gave the green light for "Jersey Shore" season six, it doesn't seem that the network is too concerned, telling People magazine they "fully expect and are looking forward to the entire cast returning for a sixth season."
