Having conquered the world of swimming, Michael Phelps is now turning his attention to...golf!
The record-holding Olympian will appear in the Golf Channel show, "The Haney Project," in which he'll receive instruction from former Tiger Woods coach, Hank Haney.
Stoked about the new opportunity, the 27-year-old athlete explained, "I have traveled the world through swimming, but really haven’t had an opportunity to experience the world through my travels. As I enter this next chapter of my life, I think I will be able to shift my competitiveness to anything I put my mind to and golf is one of the things I want to focus on.”
Yesterday, he tweeted his new coach, "Looking forward to working with you hank!!"
Following other celebrities like Charles Barkley, Ray Romano, and Adam Levine, Phelps has an idea of what he's in for. "I’m excited about this project with Golf Channel and I’m looking forward to working with Hank and see what we can do together on the golf course."
Beginning in February, the series will show the 18-time gold medal winner in one-on-one golf instruction and playing courses around the globe.
