The most decorated athlete in Olympic history, Michael Phelps, is coming out of retirement.
Bob Bowman, the swimmer's coach told reporters on Monday (April 14) that the athlete extrodinarre will compete in three events at a meet in Mesa, Ariz., on April 24-26.
The return will mark the first time Phelps has entered competition since the 2012 London Olympics.
While not ruling out a return to the Olympics in Rio, the coach said, "I think he's just going to test the waters a little bit and see how it goes. I wouldn't say it's a full-fledged comeback."
He continued, "I wouldn't say it's 100 percent on the radar. After Mesa, we're going to sit down and talk about it."
