With her new movie "This Is 40" set to hit theaters on December 21st, Melissa McCarthy pitched in on promotions by covering the December 2012 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine.
The 42-year-old comedic actress struck a range of holiday-themed poses for the Brian Bowen Smith shot spread accompanying the feature article titled 'It's What's Inside That Counts!'
A few of the highlights from Miss McCarthy's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Good Housekeeping!
On family traditions over the holidays:
"On Christmas Eve, we have everyone over and make a potful of meatballs for submarine sandwiches."
On her spirituality:
"I believe that it matters how you treat people. I believe in heaven. I don't believe that this is it, and we're done."
On her early dues-paying days:
"I did lots of falling down on my face, and I just kept getting back up. It's not the biggest deal. Eventually you realize you'll get up, and you don't mind the falling as much."
On her tenacious nature:
"When I believe in something, I'm like a dog with a bone. As long as you're not hurting anyone, I don't know that you'll ever regret [pushing ahead]. You'll be happier and more true to who you really are."
