With his new movie "Magic Mike" set to hit theaters on June 29th, Matthew McConaughey amped up promotions by scoring himself a feature in the July 2012 issue of Total Film magazine.

Partaking in an in-depth Q&A session, the 42-year-old actor spoke about everything from stripping down for his new movie to wrestling cows to get in shape.

Highlights from Mr McConaughey's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Total Film!

On whether there's full-on male nudity in 'Magic Mike':
"There's stripping. I know that. And my hand's raised. I'm guilty of one of those! Hell yeah. It wasn't written, but Steven said, 'You know, I think it'd be great if your character, Dallas, strips towards the end of the movie.' And I was like, 'I don't need to strip.' And then I was like, 'Gimme a break, McConaughey. You're in a frickin' stripper movie and you don't get out there and give that a punt? You're gonna regret it man...' It was a hoot."

On whether fatherhood has changed him at all:
"I travel for 'we' instead of 'me'. I feel like I'm a courier, a shepherd. I'm a king now. I've got two valuable packages tied to my hip, and that's my son and my daughter. I cherish it. Being a father was the one thing, since I was eight years old, that I knew I wanted to be. I remember I loved calling somebody 'sir'. I've always respected, looked up.

On tips for getting the ladies:
"You respect a woman. I remember my father telling us very early the birds and bees part. He goes, 'You're gonna kiss, and it's gonna go further. If you ever, ever sense the slightest bit of resistance, when you're approaching or trying to, you know, get under their shirt... if you feel the slightest sense of resistance, you stop.' And he goes, 'You will also have many times that girl, after you feel the resistance, telling you, 'No, no, no, – it's OK.' But do not go any further.'"

On getting into shape by wrestling cows:
"I went out to the ranch for about six weeks on my own. It's easier at night when they're kind of asleep, standing asleep. I wrestled some of the calves, some of the mid-sized cows, and then there are some big boys that I just booted around with. I got hit in the hip – pretty much had a black and blue hip for three weeks. It put me on my a**, for sure."
