For Stephen King fans, it seems like it’s been ages since talk began about making “The Dark Tower” book series into a movie, and now two heavy hitters have announced the project is going forward.
“Luther” hunk Idris Elba took to his Twitter account today (March 1) with a cheeky tweet- @McConaughey you have one new follower.#DarkTowerMovie,” and Matthew McConaughey replied, [email protected] come and get me, I look forward to it.#DarkTowerMovie.”
The Academy Award-winning actor tried out for the Richard Linklater flick back in 1992, sporting a black MTV Headbanger’s Ball t-shirt with flowing blonde hair and plenty of southern swagger. Thankfully, Matthew had the juice necessary to land his stoner role as it brought him into view for writers, directors and casting agents all over Tinseltown.
Along with director Christopher Nolan and producer Emma Thomas, the “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” hunk and the “Princess Diaries” dame were in good spirits as they fielded questions and posed for photos at the Peninsula Shanghai hotel.
