Though Ann Curry's quick exit from the "Today" show was widely believed to be due to a rift with co-host Matt Lauer, a new story in New York magazine reveals just how wide the rift was.
An NBC staffer told reporter Joe Hagan, "Everybody at NBC, everybody at the Today show, everybody understood that Ann was kicked out of her position because Matt didn't want her there. That's why it was so personal between Ann and Matt."
He’s become part of the fabric of weekday morning television, and today Matt Lauer announced he’ll be sticking to his job at the “Today” show.
Anne Curry made the initial statement, to which Lauer replied, “Truth be told I was developing an idea for a new show where viewers could tune in every morning, and see someone they know lose a little more of his hair every single day in front of their eyes, so I thought, ‘I don’t have to do that. I can just stay here and do that.’”
Looking to add to his media presence, Ryan Seacrest is reportedly in talks to become the next co-host of NBC's "Today" show.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the 36-year-old E! guru met with network executives late Tuesday (December 6) to discuss the possibility of him moving to the early morning program to replace Matt Lauer if he chooses not to renew his contract in 2012.
Reenacting one of the most beloved events of the year, the "Today" show crew dressed up in their finest garb to throw their own royal wedding for this year's Halloween celebration this morning (October 31).
