Taking her artistic expression very seriously, Mariah Carey was devastated to learn that the wrong version of her new single, "The Art of Letting Go" was released to fans on Monday (November 11).
Distraught, the former "American Idol" judge began in her lengthy Facebook post, "Hey Lambs, I have to tell you this, I can't do what I always do and say nothing at all. It is 3:30am (11.14), and I'm sitting on my bathroom floor, very upset by some news I just got from a close friend and employee."
She is leaving "American Idol" in her past, and Mariah Carey couldn't be happier doing so. Serving as a judge alongside big names such as Keith Urban, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj, the "My All" singer revealed her true feelings about the show in an interview with Angie Martinez on Tuesday (November 12).
"Honestly, I hated it," she said. "Here's what it was. I was the first person who signed on...I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice...monetary moment, and I was just like, 'Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I've known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn't a big deal. This will be nothing.'"
She’s always been great about loving her Lambs (fans), and Mariah Carey showed up on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to talk about a secret listening session she held earlier in the week.
The “Someday” songstress and Fallon invited a few super-fans to a recording studio to hear her new single “The Art of Letting Go,” and halfway through the song she appeared in the room to reveal she’d been singing the whole thing live.
