Diane Keaton Covers Ladies' Home Journal November 2012

Posted Friday November 2, 2012 11:00 AM GMT

Taking a break from her busy schedule, Diane Keaton garnered herself a little added exposure by covering the November 2012 issue of Ladies' Home Journal magazine.

The 66-year-old actress showed off her hip sense of style in a pair of black-and-white polka dot skinny jeans and a blazer for the shoot while dishing about everything from being an older mom to why her Hollywood relationships failed.

Highlights from Miss Keaton's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Ladies' Home Journal!

On her past relationships:
"They needed the right kind of woman. Managerial skills are necessary to handle men like that and I'm not the manager type. I also don't think I have a lot of nurturing skills. I needed as much as they needed and that's not a good mix."

On adopting a child later in life:
"My life went a certain way and suddenly I was 50 with no purpose and I wanted a family. In some ways my children are lucky because I'm much less self-involved now. But they know they have this older parent, and that must be odd for them."

On her advice to older women:
"When you get to a certain age, you shouldn't wear strapless gowns where everything is exposed because you look ridiculous. So you make a mistake here and there, you do too much or you do too little. Just have fun. Smile. And keep putting on lipstick."
