Lil Wayne: More Legal Drama

He’s serving a year’s sentence at Riker’s Island prison in New York, but that’s not stopping Lil Wayne from getting into trouble elsewhere.

Yesterday an Arizona judge issued a bench warrant for the “Mrs. Officer” rapper after he failed to appear in court to answer for drug and weapons charges. However, Wayne was obviously unable to attend due to his current incarceration.

According to a report, Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) was arrested in January 2008 at a border checkpoint 78 miles east of Yuma, Arizona for possession of cocaine, ecstasy, and a handgun.

"It does not appear that a trial will be occurring anytime within the next eight to 12 months," said James Tilson, Carter’s lawyer.
