It’s been an excruciating past week and a half for John Travolta and his family following the sudden death of his 16-year-old son Jett. And the Travolta family has released a thank-you letter to “The People of Ocala,” thanking them for their love and support.
Family attorney Michael McDermott published the letter in the Ocala Star-Banner, expressing gratitude to the community for standing by them during this “impossibly painful situation.”
It’s been a tragic week for John Travolta and family ever since their son/brother Jett passed away last Friday. And his funeral will be held today in Ocala, Florida, according to a report.
The “Pulp Fiction” actor’s son underwent an autopsy this past Monday and was determined to have died as a result of his seizure disorder. He was subsequently cremated and his remains were flown to the US from the Bahamas where he died at the Travolta’s vacation home.
Now that his sons ashes have been transported back to the States, John Travolta and family have made arrangements for a memorial service in honor of their young son Jett.
To be held on Thursday (January 8), the family is said to be planning a small gathering in Ocala, Florida, following the shocking death of their 16-year-old after he suffered a seizure in the Bahamas this past Friday.
With today's scheduled autopsy being completed, the hearse carrying John Travolta's son Jett arrived at Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in Freeport, Grand Bahama, on Monday afternoon (January 5).
As for the cause of death, no results from today's medical examination have been disclosed - and it may just stay that way, as the Bahamian Minister of Health Hubert Minnis failed to mention whether the report would be made public.
A cheerful Miley Cyrus and her minder were spotted out yesterday afternoon grabbing lunch at Lucy's 51 before her performance at Wango Tango in Irvine last night (May 10).

Yesterday was a busy one for the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, as the Step Up Women’s Network held their annual Inspiration Awards gala. And stars like Jennifer Love Hewitt (who was actually an honoree at the event), Mena Suvari, and Kelly Preston all stopped by to check it out.
“Ghost Whisperer” star Jennifer Love Hewitt even got her fiancé Ross McCall to accompany her to the shindig. And she looked conservative-yet-sexy in a black button-up jacket with matching skirt and a pair of peep-toe high heels.
Being blessed with great proportions of wealth, some celebrities are known to leave BIG tips for waiters and waitresses to thank them for their service. Apparently, that isn't the case for Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and a slew of other Hollywood A-listers.
Or so says Katherine Taylor's new book 'Rules for Saying Goodbye,' in which her heroine of the same name is a barmaid.
In the midst of his new movie, Hairspray, hitting theaters, John Travolta is fielding press for another very different reason. It seems the actor, 53, is in denial about his son’s disability.
Reportedly, Travolta and his wife, Kellly Preston, 44, are interested in having another child. The problem is that the Saturday Night Fever star won’t face the fact that his 15-year-old son Jett is autistic. When interviewing the star, one journalist observed, "Travolta sits there in interviews talking about how Jett loves to read or play sports, but it is clear that the boy can barely do either."
