She's known for her heroic actions onscreen, but it looks as if Kate Winslet is just as brave in real life, as she has been credited with saving the life of billionaire Richard Branson's 90-year-old mother from the devastating fire that destroyed his $70 million Necker Island estate.
The 35-year-old "Titanic" star was on holiday at the lavish pad with her two children, Mia and Joe, as well as beau Louis Dowler, when the blaze broke out, forcing everyone to evacuate.
"Many thanks to Kate Winslet for helping to carry my 90 year old mum out of the main house to safety - she was wondering when a Director was going to shout CUT," the Virgin Group CEO wrote on his blog on Monday.
According to reports, a fire broke out at the home around 4 a.m. after it was met with a lightning strike coming from the harsh conditions of Tropical Storm Irene. Luckily, of the 20 people staying at the property, no one was reported injured.
