They’re the latest Hollywood couple to file for divorce, but Sam Mendes says it’s not because he cheated on his wife Kate Winslet.

The “Revolutionary Road” director is furious about the rumors that he was unfaithful and says nothing could be farther from the truth.

Mendes’ rep told press the charges claimed by Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper are “utter nonsense…untrue and ridiculous.”

Rather, it sounds like Kate and Sam couldn’t reconcile their career ambitions and finally called it quits. "Kate told Sam, 'Your career is not more important than mine,” leaked a source.
