Fulfilling her latest bout of judging duties, Kara DioGuardi paid a visit to Times Square in New York City earlier today (June 16).
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter, who is in the Big Apple to pick the winner of Folger's Coffee Jingle Live contest, looked beautiful in a bright blue dress and nude pumps as she made her way to the coffee company's event.
In related news, Kara says there are some distinct differences between her previous role on "American Idol" and her work on current show "Platinum Hit," telling MTV, "I'm way more myself [on Platinum Hit]. After nine hours of filming, you start to forget that you're on a TV show, and then the New York part of me really comes out. I say, 'Look, man. ... Listen, bitch!'"
DioGuardi dished the reasons behind her tougher approach this time around, explaining, "I'm really critical. I actually cringe when I watch myself. Songwriting is one of the most difficult careers you can pick, and I don't think I'm doing them any favors by telling them that something's great when it's not. ... In my own career, the times that I got better were when people pointed out what I wasn't doing well."
