Kanye West Outsells Nicki Minaj

They both released their new albums the same week, and Kanye West and Nicki Minaj both pulled out all the stops to have a huge showing.

But in the end, the Pink Friday newcomer was helpless to overthrow her controversial rap veteran competitor.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Miss Minaj sold a respectable 375,000 units, while Mr. West moved just shy of half-a-million copies of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, totaling 495,000.

And as the holiday shopping season continues, it remains to be seen who will have the most staying power.
