Tapping his talents for the annual affair, Jimmy Kimmel will tackle hosting duties for the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Dinner next April.
Offering up a witty remark about his new gig, the late-night talk host told fans, "I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner. I love dinner."
Anticipating the funnyman's jokes and jabs, Caren Bohan, president of the White House Correspondents' Association, told press, “Jimmy’s humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience. We are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner."
While the dinner is known for the hilarious prodding and poking at senior government officials, it's actually all for a good cause. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships to benefit aspiring journalists.
