Her career just keeps getting hotter, and Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t contain her excitement at last night’s 70th Golden Globe Awards.
The “Hunger Games” actress was named Best Actress in a Motion Picture- Comedy or Musical for her work in “Silver Linings Playbook,” and during her acceptance speech she threw out a questionable joke about one of her fellow nominees.
Lawrence gushed, “I beat Meryl [Streep]!” which received mixed reaction from the Beverly Hilton Hotel audience, though she recovered from the awkward moment with a genuine and heartfelt follow-up.
"You're incredible, and you make me better every single day," Jen stated regarding her costar Bradley Cooper. As for Harvey Weinstein, Lawrence quipped, "Harvey, thank you for killing whomever you had to kill to get me up here today."
She continued, "Mom, people said you were crazy for believing in me, but you did it anyway. Dad, you taught me to laugh, and that has been my salvation through all of this."
And for her brothers, "I wouldn't be where I am today without you being mean to me...but then really supportive and loving. So thank you."
