While the sunny skies and warmer temperatures tried to lure moviegoers away from theaters, “Spy” still managed to post some decent opening weekend numbers.
The brand new flick, starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne and Jude Law ended up raking in a respectable $30 million in ticket sales, placing it ahead of last weekend’s top dog “San Andreas,” which came in at #2 with $26.4 million.
He’s best known for his rugged physique and gravelly voice, though it seems Jason Statham is also a big fan of ice cream with sprinkles!
The “Spy” stud is featured on the front of Esquire magazine’s June/July 2015 issue, chatting about his transition from action to comedy- “I’ve always been apprehensive about trying to do a f*cking comedy, because they’re either brilliant or they’re f*cking terrible. At least in making an action film, there’s always going to be someone who wants to see a car chase. Even if a lot of the people don’t like it, there will be a lot of people that do. But bad comedy is just garbage. But this works, and I give a lot of the credit—or all of the fucking credit—to Paul and the writing.”
The 2015 BRIT Awards may have ended, but the party was far from over last night (Feb. 25)! Some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry celebrated the show (and their wins) at the Universal after-party.
The event, which was hosted by Bacaradi, was held at London’s Soho House Pop-Up. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and her hunky beau Jason Statham partied into the night, celebrating the Model of the Year title she received the day before at the Elle Style Awards.
