Taking drastic measures for his craft, Jared Leto revealed just how far he went to play a transsexual living with HIV in the upcoming film "Dallas Buyers Club."
In a new Terry Richardson photo shoot, the 40-year-old actor showed off his extra-think frame in shirtless photos.
Speaking to Vulture magazine, Jared explained that he was fasting to achieve the desired body image for his role in the movie. Talking about the fasting process, he says, "Your body goes through weird stages. Sometimes it’s hard to hold onto water, for me it’s not about the most weight I can lose, it’s more to represent the character."
However, this isn't the first time the dedicated performer transformed his body for a role. In 2007, he gained 62 pounds to play Mark David Chapman, the murderer of John Lennon in the movie "Chapter 27."
