Janet Jackson is set to reschedule her 75 axed shows and release a new album about "motherhood".
The 50-year-old singer reportedly split from her estranged husband Wissam Al Mana earlier this month, and is now said to be focusing all of her energy on writing new "positive" uplifting music about becoming a mother to the estranged couple's three-month-old son, Eissa Al Mana.
The 'Scream' hitmaker is also going to play the shows she postponed to become a mother last year under a new run of dates named the 'State Of The World' tour, which will hit North America later this year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Having a baby has upped her desire to release positive music and she wants her new songs to be a celebration of life, love and motherhood.
Janet Jackson is delaying her ill-fated tour because she and her husband are "planning our family".
The Rhythm Nation singer, 49, first rescheduled the start of her Unbreakable World Tour so she could undergo throat surgery, then in March she postponed her European dates three weeks before the trek was due to start.
It’s been pretty sparse for Janet Jackson fans since 2010’s “Nothing” clip, but that all changed today when the “Black Cat” songstress released her video for “No Sleeep.”
Featuring J. Cole, the new arrival finds Ms. Jackson meandering around a marvelous mansion while singing her seductive lyrics. She tweeted a link to the full video on Friday (July 24) along with the message, “I hope u enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it.”
There’s a growing trend among pop stars, who skip the promotional hype and just release new music, and Janet Jackson is the latest songstress to post a song without warning.
At 9am on Monday (June 22), the “Black Cat” hitmaker posted a link to her YouTube page’s latest clip, a new song called “No Sleeep” along with the message, “I dedicate this to My Love. #NoSL333P. #ConversationsInACafe.”
