While it was supposed to be the second of a three night run, it turns out that Janet Jackson took the stage for the final time in the Land Down Under as part of her NUMBER ONES: Up Close & Personal tour on Saturday night (November 5).
The 45-year-old disappointed ticket holding fans as she canceled her final scheduled appearance at the Sydney Opera House just one hour before the gig was supposed to get underway on Sunday.
The news was announced via a statement from Janet's Australian promoter, as the Dainty Group cited doctor's orders for vocal rest as the cause of the scrapped show.
With no rescheduled date planned, fans have to settle for refunds on their tickets, as the Dainty Group told in their official release: "It is with regret that Dainty Group announces that tonight's Janet Jackson Number Ones: Up Close and Personal concert, at the Sydney Opera House, cannot proceed. Doctors have ordered Miss Jackson to undertake vocal rest for the next 2 days, so she can complete the 3rd and final show of her Australian tour, this Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House."
