Giving fans a special scene to whet their appetite for the upcoming release, a new clip of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" was released on Tuesday (November 27).
In this clip of the highly-anticipated adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic novel, Gandalf the Grey gives Bilbo Baggins his trusty sword "Sting" (that is eventually gifted to Frodo in The Lord of the Rings).
The movie follows Bilbo Baggins, who finds himself on a quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was conquered by the dragon Smaug. Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield. Later, he meets up with the creature Gollum, where he obtains the "precious" ring that will change the fate of Middle-earth.
The Peter Jackson-directed prequel stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Elijah Wood and hits theaters on December 14th in 3D, IMAX 3D, and regular theaters, but you can catch a sneak peek via the clip below.
