On the heels of the nominations announcement for the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards, some of the nominees have already issued their reactions.
Taylor Swift tweeted her thanks for having her song “Safe and Sound” nominated for Best Original Song- Motion Picture. "Best birthday surprise EVER-just found out that Safe&Sound is nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!! Thank you @goldenglobes and HFPA! #hungergames."
Regarding his multiple nods for “Django Unchained” including Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Drama, Quentin Tarantino told press, "It's very gratifying to get this many nominations from the HFPA for a film I worked so hard on and am so passionate about. I look forward to having fun at the Golden Globes with my cast mates and fellow nominees."
And as for her pair of nominations for both “Paperboy” and “Hemingway & Gellhorn,” Nicole Kidman gushed, "As an actor you look for roles that are rich, complicated, and that stretch you and this year I was blessed to find two. To have the chance to play them was a gift in itself and to then be acknowledged this way is icing on the cake. Thank you to the Hollywood Foreign Press!"
Meanwhile, Hayden Panettiere was thrilled to be nominated for her role in “Nashville”- "I'm in total and utter shock, I'm literally still lying in bed and feel like a kid in a candy store right now. I’m so floored by it and I think Connie would agree that the show's creators give us so much to work with that it makes it easy for us to come every day and do our jobs."
Max Greenfield couldn’t believe it when he got the call that he was nominated for his gig on “The New Girl.” “I got the phone call at 5:30 in the morning, and now the house is awake -- including my daughter, who is never up this early. She has demanded Dora The Explorer, so that is happening. This is amazing, though. There was an email going around when it happened with my manager and my agent and a bunch of people, and my only response was ‘Does this mean I'm as good of an actor as Ed Harris?’ I can literally tell you what movie theater and where exactly I was sitting when I saw Pollock."
The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 13th and will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
