The “Desperate Housewives” actress tells the publication about her decision to eschew on-screen gigs in favor of developing her business portfolio and activist interests- “I’ve always been business-minded. I worked in corporate America before becoming an actress and knew that acting wasn’t the end but a means to an end. It gave me the platform and the exposure I needed to do my philanthropic work. It also gave me the financial security to focus on my other businesses, start new businesses, and even help other people start businesses.”
In addition to her successful acting career and delicious restaurant ventures, Eva Longoria has a heart for helping girls all over the world get access to good education. The “Desperate Housewives” star is featured in the January 2015 issue of Glamour magazine and in her interview she discusses her new documentary “A Path Appears” as well as the inspiration behind her charity work.
Of her recently trip to Cartagena, Columbia, Eva notes, “Every step we took, there was another pregnant child, and none of them were in class. It was epidemic.”
