Erin Andrews Explains Emotional Court Session

Posted Tuesday March 16, 2010 11:56 AM GMT

After being on an emotional train from a stalker, Erin Andrews broke down after the suspect was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

The ESPN beauty said, "I had a pretty big comedown, a meltdown last night, I think, after I got back from the courtroom. It's just been a lot ... it's not over -- it's not going to be over, but this is the first step."

Michael Barrett, an ex-insurance executive from Westmont, Illinois, followed Andrews from Tennessee, Ohio and Wisconsin, even asking rooms adjacent to where she was staying and videotaping her through peepholes. He was arrested October 2.

As well as the 30 month sentence which begins May 3, he owes Andrews $7,366 in restitution fees. After being sentence he hoped that Andrews “can forgive me,” after hearing she thinks “he feels bad he was caught.”

Meanwhile, Andrews will appear on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars premieres Monday March 22. "I wanted to have a change of pace, make myself smile, do something different," she said of her new gig. "It was time for that."
