Emma Watson is an English actress best who played Hermione Granger on the Harry Potter series. Emma Watson's success in the Harry Potter series has led to several more projects and helped Emma Watson win the UK Kid's Choice Award.
Thoroughly enjoying her one-year acting sabbatical, Emma Watson is featured on the front page of the Women & Men issue of Esquire UK magazine.
As part of her focus on gender equality, the “Harry Potter” star explains she’s experienced sexism first-hand- "I've had my arse slapped as I've left a room. I've felt scared walking home. I've had people following me. I don't talk about these experiences much, because coming from me they'll sound like a huge deal and I don't want this to be about me, but most women I know have experienced it and worse."
She’s built an impressive body of work over the past fifteen years, and now Emma Watson is ready to focus on philanthropy and her “own personal development.”
The “Harry Potter” star told Paper magazine she’s gearing up for a year-long hiatus from showbiz- "I'm taking a year away from acting to focus on two things, really. My own personal development is one. My own personal task is to read a book a week, and also to read a book a month as part of my book club. I'm doing a huge amount of reading and study just on my own. I almost thought about going and doing a year of gender studies, then I realized that I was learning so much by being on the ground and just speaking with people and doing my reading. That I was learning so much on my own. I actually wanted to keep on the path that I'm on. I'm reading a lot this year, and I want to do a lot of listening."
No stranger to magazine covers, Emma Watson is the star of the Winter 2015 issue of Porter, slated to hit newsstands next month.
In her interview, the “Perks of Being a Wallflower” star explains, "[I've] spent more than half of my life pretending to be someone else. While my contemporaries were dying their hair and figuring out who they were, I was figuring out who Hermione was and how best to portray her. Now at 25 for the first time in my life I feel like I have a sense of self that I’m comfortable with. I actually do have things that I want to say and I want to be my most authentic self."
