Stepping out to promote their highly-anticipated film, the stars of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” took to The Ziegfeld Theater for what was a grand New York City premiere on Thursday (December 6).
All looking dapper in their red carpet best, co-stars Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman worked the press line and greeted fans before heading in to the main spectacle.

The new feature come just in time for fans to get a taste of what they can expect before heading out to get their hands on the first available tickets, which begin sales on Wednesday (November 7) at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time in the U.S. and Canada.
Sending Middle-Earth fans into a frenzy, Peter Jackson has confirmed "The Hobbit" has officially become a trilogy after announcing on Monday (July 30) plans for a third film instead of the originally scheduled two.
Sharing the news through his facebook page, the franchise's director explained, "We know how much of the story of Bilbo Baggins, the Wizard Gandalf, the Dwarves of Erebor, the rise of the Necromancer, and the Battle of Dol Guldur will remain untold if we do not take this chance."
