He’s won top honors at “Dancing with the Stars” a total of five times, and Derek Hough hopes his expertise will help Meryl Davis and Charlie White win a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
The 28-year-old Salt Lake City native did all the choreography for the Ice Dancing duo, who scored silver at Vancouver.
Mr. White explained, "We are a totally different team. We've really taken it to the next level this year.” Davis added, "We're expecting a lot of ourselves. There's a lot of pressure from within."
As for how they got started, Derek noted, "We met and talked music and ideas. There are some things that you can do on the ice that you can't do on the floor. I was in awe."
And while Hough won’t travel to Sochi, he’ll keep close tabs on the team as they compete. "This is their moment. This is where they put all that history and all that relationship into it. This is their fairy tale."
