It appears that calm to the storm is in sight for Kevin Clash, the voice behind “Sesame Street’s” beloved Elmo.
The man who accused the 52-year-old puppeteer of having indecent relations while he was underage is now recanting his allegations.
A lawyer for the unidentified accuser released a statement on Tuesday (November 13), which read, “[his client] wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.”
And that the man “will have no further comment on the matter.”
After taking a leave of absence from the hit PBS children’s show on Monday (November 12), Kevin released a statement saying, “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”
That’s not all. The leaders behind Sesame Street released their own words, which explained, “We are pleased that this matter has been brought to a close, and we are happy that Kevin can move on from this unfortunate episode.”
