Hollywood has lost another talented great, as Charles Durning passed away on December 24 at his home at the age of 89.
Best known for his Oscar nominated role as Governor in "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, the actor showed versatility with turns in "Tootsie," "To Be Or Not To Be" and "Dick Tracy."
In his life away from the big screen, Mr. Durning was a military man and earned a Purple Heart in World War II.
He is survived by his wife and three children. The family has planned a private service and burial at Arlington National Cemetery.
