Whitney Houston Comes Out on Top
Whitney Houston made quite the comeback, as the singer’s album, I Look To You, went straight to number one in the United States.
Billboard album charts report that it has shifted a whole 305,000 units - a huge number for first week sales for Whitney’s career and the biggest breakthrough female artist this year.
Whitney will also appear on Oprah Winfrey that will air next week.
Meanwhile, Houston revealed a dark side of herself, saying she was so desperate to escape showbiz and get out of the limelight that she was ready to run to a small island so she could put all her time and effort into raising her daughter and looking out for her mother.
“Three-and-a-half years ago, I was thinking about moving to a small island and setting up a food cart. I was just ready to lie back and raise my daughter [Bobbi Kristina Brown] and just watch her grow and nurture her.”
“And… I wanted to spend more time with my mum [singer Cissy Houston].”
