Victoria Beckham’s Happy To Have Friends Around
Victoria Beckham made the move across the pond just a little over a month ago with her soccer star husband David, and it would appear as if the pair have been natives of California for years (minus some of the paparazzi incidents). Whether Victoria is going out for a cup of coffee or a hard night on the town, A-list celebrities and family constantly surround her.
The Mirror recently quoted Victoria saying: “It’s so great for us all here. The children love the sports and outdoor activities, David loves his new team, and I’m just really happy to be somewhere where I already have friends.”
This is a drastic change of pace from the life that Victoria previously lived in Madrid (David played for the professional soccer club Madrid FC before he made the move to the LA Galaxy). Victoria had a very small circle of friends, and the children didn’t find many activities that they could relate to. In addition to the language barrier, many cultural practices can also leave foreigners feeling disconnected.
“Madrid was lovely but we didn’t know too many people, whereas here I have people I can pop round to see. Katie (Holmes) is a really good friend, as is Eva Longoria - it makes settling in a whole lot easier.”
“The wives (of David’s LA Galaxy teammates) have all been so friendly and welcoming. We had a ‘family day’ with a barbecue at the ground a few weeks ago and it was such good fun - a lot of the players have kids and our boys made loads of friends.”
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise may have been the unofficial welcome party for the Beckhams, but their services are obviously no longer needed. Victoria has desperately wanted to live the life of a superstar in America ever since her days as a Spice Girl, and her wish finally came true.
