Usher Opens Up About His Divorce
Having a big career, going through a divorce, and having children has not made for a smooth ride as of late for Usher.
When asked if he was in a good place right now, the R&B star confessed, “I’d hate for [people] to assume that, if there’s any turmoil, I think it’s managing all of it, but having an incredible team that helps me do that it makes it very easy, or easier than it would normally be attempting to do it myself.”
And the father of 18-month-year-old Usher Raymond V and 6-month-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond adds, “What I do is, I try to get [my work] done and get home on the weekends if possible…but when I’m with my boys it’s just all about them.”
Us Weekly reports that the two-year marriage to Foster has always been problematic, even from the beginning. “She was alienating and controlling, and he was unhappy,” told a source.
The divorce petition declares that Usher and Foster have lived separately since July and there is “no reasonable hope of reconciliation.”
Meanwhile, Foster’s attorney has said that she has been a “faithful wife and loving mother” during the time the two were together.
The couple is due in court on July 15.
