Thursday, May 01, 2008 Uma Thurman Deals With Creepy Stalker
In what was a far cry from the glitzy movie premieres and luxurious vacations that she’s used to, Uma Thurman appeared in a Manhattan courtroom today to confront the man who has been allegedly stalking her. The “Pulp Fiction” actress took the stand in the trial of Jack Jordan, a 37-year-old Maryland man who was discovered and arrested last Fall outside Uma’s Greenwich Village home. And as she recounted the events of the past few years involving Jordan, she never once made eye contact with him. According to witnesses, Thurman was noticeably shaken up and spoke with a voice “just above a whisper.” She testified about how she became more and more alarmed as he began bombarding her with inappropriate emails and letters, one of which contained threats of suicide if she dated another man. One such story took place while she was filming “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” and Jordan attempted to gain entry to her trailer. She told the court that Jordan gave a card to her assistant that chilled her to the bone when she read it. “It looked so disturbed and I noticed words scribbled out—’chocolate, ‘mouth,’ ‘soft kissing,’ ‘my hands should be on your body.’ After reading, I was completely freaked out and said, ‘Oh my god.’ It was like a nightmare.” We’ll keep you updated on the Uma Thurman stalker case, so stay tuned to Gossip Girls! Enjoy the pictures of Uma heading into the courthouse this morning (May 1).
