Tom Cruise Extorter Arrested
One of the ugly realities of being famous is that people will always try to mess with you. And in Tom Cruise’s case, it pays to have a good lawyer.
David Hans Schmidt contacted Cruise’s camp demanding more than $1 million not to publish some stolen photographs from TomKat’s wedding last year. And according to Tom’s lawyer, Schmidt has been arrested.
It all started six weeks ago, when Schmidt threatened to publish lost photos of the Italian nuptials. Right away, the FBI was contacted. And according to Bertram Fields, Tom’s attorney, “He was looking for money, lots of money.”
That’s for sure. Schmidt wanted over $1 million. And in the industry, they call that extortion. And for Schmidt, that meant that federal agents arrested him this past Tuesday, and held him on $100,000 bond.
