Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ New Home
Who says the real estate market is depressed? Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes just dropped $3.5 million to purchase three acres of land from Rob Lowe in order to build a dream home.
The plot is located in the Montecito area of Santa Barbara. And they’ll be cozying up to neighbor Oprah Winfrey, whose $50 million compound is less than a mile down the road.
They’ll also rub shoulders with Steve Martin, Steven Spielberg and Kirk Douglas, who all own property in what is considered one of the wealthiest communities in the country.
So as Tom continues filming Valkyrie, Katie gets to start picking out new designs and decorating schemes for a new house. There’s no doubt that she’ll enlist BFF Victoria Beckham if she needs any help.

After Katie & Tom builds their dream home, how would they get started on designing the whole place. I’m sure they’re home is going to be grand in size and with all those spaces… imagine putting all the interior together. Maybe they’ll be able to enlist in one of the designers from “Design Star” season two that airs on Sunday July 22nd @ 10pm on HGTV. I work with them and had the chance to see some parts of it & it’s a lot of crazy designs and it’ll be one interesting season.
